Based on stressful and challenging past experiences, there used to be times when I had difficulties with self regulation when it came to improving mood, maintaining focus and 'mind chatter'.  It felt like I was missing something or not in control.

But with years of professional and personal experiences, research and a lot of experimentation, I learned: Things could be different for me, in part, by training my brain to operate more smoothly and efficiently

I found brain training in the form of neurofeedback, a type of biofeedback that applies real-time utilization of brain activity to train self regulation of the brain and its functioning.

  • A 2009 analysis of various international studies showed clinical efficacy of neurofeedback on inattention, impulsivity and hyperactivity.

  • Published in May 2018, a study has shown that neurofeedback has been found to be as effective as medication in the management of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

  • Norman Doidge, author of The Brain That Changes Itself and neuropsychiatrist responsible for introducing the concept of neuroplasticity to the mainstream, refers to neurofeedback as “a powerful stabilizer of the brain”.

How Do I Use Neurofeedback Brain Training?
First of all
... In my 20s I had the realization that I wanted to live a life of meaning and to make some kind of a difference.

My chosen path and second career has been to serve and support others through mental and emotional wellness, personal growth and total health.

So it's crucial that I be at my very best to serve, and it’s my belief that neurofeedback helps me be at my best.

The short of it is: I use it so that I am mentally, emotionally and cognitively fit

How Does it Help Me?
The short of it is: For me, neurofeedback calms my brain, which in turn brings efficiency, productivity and resilience in all areas of my life.

I think of it this way... It turns down the overly loud volume of life.  Whether it’s running my own businesses, my personal and professional responsibilities, self improvement, my creative pursuits, and relationships, these are all daily demands that all now feel manageable… and even enjoyable!

While results for everyone varies, the idea is that everyone with a brain can benefit.  For any brain (and it’s owner ;) it may be possible to be optimized by training the brain.

And Lastly...
Brain training is easy and relaxing.  I hook myself up, plug in, sit back and listen to music for 30 minutes as my brain trains.

There are so many things you can do, but for starters, reducing sugar (inflammation), regular light exercise, engaging in creative pursuits, and emotional self-care would definitely help.  Just to name a few.
